The Eucharistic Miracle

The oldest and most significant Eucharistic Miracle of the Catholic Church. In the 8th century, during a Mass, the host transformed into flesh and the wine into blood. The relics can still be seen in the Church of San Francesco today.

Opening hours: Daily 7:00-12:30 and 15:30-19:30. Free admission. Guided tours on request.

Historic Old Town

The medieval old town of Lanciano is a labyrinth of narrow alleys, historic squares, and imposing gates. Particularly worth seeing are the four historic quarters: Civitanova, Lancianovecchia, Borgo, and Sacca.

Tip: Start your tour at Piazza del Plebiscito and explore the surrounding alleys from there.

The two medieval defensive towers from the 11th century are the landmark of Lanciano. They offer a fantastic panoramic view over the city and surrounding countryside to the sea.

Opening hours: April-October daily 10:00-13:00 and 16:00-19:00. Admission: €3.
